Sefton Writing Competition 2010 – £1000 in prizes!

The competition is part of Sefton Celebrates Writing and theme is ‘IF’.

The closing date for this competition is Friday 22 October.

Prizes are:

  1. Poetry: 1st prize £250. Four runners up of £50 each
  2. Other writing: 1st prize £250. Four runners up of £50 each
  3. Writing (including poems) by Young People: 1st prize £50. Four runners up of £10 each

Original poems written in any style, but not exceeding 40 lines, are eligible in this category.

Other Writing
Entries can include short texts, stories, essays, dialogues, mini-dramas, monologues and lyrics, none of which must exceed 500 words.

Writing by Young People
Poems no more than 40 lines or general writing no more than 500 words by young people 14 years and under. The work submitted in this category may be illustrated. A selection of illustrated entries will be exhibited at Crosby Civic Hall on the day of the prize-giving.

The announcement of winners will be made at a special presentation to be held at Crosby Civic Hall on Sunday 7 November at 4pm.
