Cultural Centre Redevelopment

The Southport Arts Centre, Atkinson Arts Gallery and Southport Library are all undergoing huge redevelopment and will not be open to the public until 2012, when it re-opens as The Atkinson, a regional cultural centre for the arts. This major refurbishment will see cutting edge design and technology vastly enhance our cultural offer for tourists and the local community.

The centre will offer the highest quality in contemporary dance, music, theatre, film, visual arts and comedy. It will have its own bistro, local history centre and be a place for people to meet.

To keep you up to date with the project, we have some fantastic architectural drawings and artist impressions of what lies ahead and we will be adding new information and images as the different stages of the development are reached.
